The celebration of Mother’s Day is
extraordinary for all of us. It is a time to give regards,
to show our honor and respect for our mothers. These
aspects add certain formalities to this day as well as an
emotional and sentimental touch to this celebration.
On March 8, 2011, the Grade One to Grade Six students at
MIST organized a celebration to honor their mothers on
International Women’s Day. The administrative staff had sent
invitations to all of the students’ mothers and to members
of some diplomatic corps to request their presence at the
concert which was held in the conference hall at 13:00.
With the guidance of some teachers, MIST students showed
their love and respect for their mothers through
performances. Songs and poems were one of the finest ways of
their expression, as they expressed the depth of their
feelings in a musical and poetic way.
For the end of the show, MIST Director Mr. Birol Inaltekin
issued certificates for the best picture, best composition
and best ICT projects with two very special guests, Mrs.
Natalia Abramova and Mrs. Rana Masalha, the wives of Russian
and Palestinian Ambassadors to Albania, respectively.
To conclude the program, students gave flowers to their
mothers as a present to show their gratitude.
