In Albania, the 7th of March is
celebrated as Teachers’ Day to commemorate the first school
in Albania. This date is designated as the “birthday” of
the first Albanian school and the fruition of great and
endless efforts of many important teachers and citizens who
made the first Albanian language school possible.
Teachers’ Day is celebrated annually within Albanian schools
and other institutions.
At MIST, celebrating the 7th of March is a tradition. This
year, the elementary and middle school students celebrated
Teachers’ Day with a performance. Students performed
wonderfully, by singing songs and reciting poems for their
teachers and friends while other students played musical
pieces on their violins and guitars. Students gave their
teachers flowers to thank them for all of the things that
they do every day.
The surprise of the program was a short funny video called
“A Teacher’s Day at MIST,” showing photos of teachers with
humorous captions.
"A teacher is like a candle - it consumes itself to light
the way for others."
This quote reminds everyone to honor and respect their
teachers because of the constant labor and energy that they
show their students.
