Transportation
services
The school is aware of the
importance of school transportation because of that school provides
transportation to the students in different bus routes.
Bussing is provided if there
are enough students in the same area to serve a bus route. School offers
a door to door transportation by the help of bus monitors.
The safety of the children
using the School’s bus service is of utmost importance. So in each bus
there is a bus monitor who supervises children during the transportation
period.
Children who ride the bus are
expected to adhere to the bus safety rules and follow the directions of
the bus monitor. Students or parents contact Administration if they want
to use transportation services.
Food Services
The school provides
breakfast, snacks and lunch to students.
Breakfast is served between
08:00-08:30 in the dining hall.
Snack is given to students
after the third lesson.
The school offers hot meals
served during lunch between 12:25-13:15 from the kitchen. The food is
prepared and cooked on the school by school cookers.

Security Services
The security of the school
and our children is a priority matter.
The school employs guards in
school for seven days a week and 24 hours in a day to protect us or warn
us of danger.
If a situation threatens the
safety of our children in school, we will endeavor to keep them safe
until we can get them home. Unless there are reasons to act hastily,
children will be transported home in the normal fashion at the end of
the regular school day. If it should become necessary to close the
school for a time, we will send that information home with the children.
If safe transportation is
threatened, children will remain on campus until it is safe to send them
home. A telephone network has been developed to inform parents about any
problem.
While there are emergency
plans in place to be activated if needed, we do not want parents unduly
alarmed about their children’s safety.
Health Services
A doctor is on duty during
school hours. She is available to students and staff and will gladly
assist parents in any health matters they may wish to discuss. Health
services provided by the school include health counseling, first aid,
evaluation of illness, and contagious disease control.
Health
Records
a) Records on student medical
history and immunization status are collected from every student on
school entry. The minimum recommended immunizations are tetanus,
diphtheria, polio, measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and a tuberculin skin
test or chest X-ray.
b) Records of school related
injuries needing further medical care are kept in Doctor’s Room.
c) Records are maintained in
the Health Office and considered confidential. Information will be
shared with the student's teachers if it appears to bear on the
student's performance. Any information that a parent wishes to have held
in complete confidence should be so indicated when it is entered into
the record.
d) When a student leaves the
school, the health records will be included in the student's final
records.
Student
Absence due to Illness
a) Notify the school
secretary
b) In the event of a
contagious illness please notify the school doctor as soon as the
illness is confirmed. It is school policy that a medical certificate be
obtained before the child returns to school.
Visits to the
Health Office due to Illness or Injury
a) Students will request
permission from the teacher to visit the Doctor’s Room.
b) After assessing the health
problem and administering care as needed, a decision will be made
whether the student should return to class, rest or be sent home. In the
event that MIST further care is indicated immediately, the parents will
be notified by telephone. If a parent or the emergency contact cannot be
reached, care will be sought usually at the nearest Hospital.
c) If the student has a fever
or is thought to have a contagious illness, he/she will be kept in the
Doctor’s Room. We ask for parent co-operation in making arrangements for
the child’s return home as soon as possible.
Students
Taking Medication
• Medication from home will
be administered at school if accompanied by written instructions
regarding dosage and time.
• Students with asthma, bee
sting allergies, or other conditions which can suddenly flair up should
bring extra medication to the Doctor’s Room, especially if the problem
is a serious one.
• Parents are required to
inform school when it is deemed necessary for students to take
medication during the school day. Please include,
i) the type and name of the
substance prescribed by the physician,
ii) the time the medication
is to be administered,
iii) the dosage,
iv) the duration for which
the medication is to be taken and
v) the name of the Dr. who
has prescribed the medication.
Accidental
Injuries
Any injury of a student
should be reported to the school doctor immediately. Those occurring on
the way to and from school, at school or at a school-sponsored activity.
Should a student be injured
at school, and it becomes apparent after he/she is at home that the
injury requires medical treatment, please notify the school doctor the
following day.
Students who receive an
injury during break time, should report this to the teacher on duty, who
will then send the student to the school doctor, who, in turn, will
complete the appropriate paperwork.
Medical
Emergencies
Parents will be notified as
soon as the situation permits. Our school doctor provide timely medical
assistance during emergencies. They also carry out health check-ups, to
ensure the health of our student body.
